hello Monday...hello Torquay Talk...

...hello Monday posts are something I have been doing for some time now linking up with my friend Lisa Leonard and her fab-u-lous blog...
feel free to leave your BLOG link in a comment...how about some hellos...

 Hello Monday...
I love when the different groups of people I know through collecting and sharing art, handmade and vintage collide...

It's almost impossible for me not to mix business with pleasure...
you see I work so hard, and I do what I love....
how could I not adore the kindred spirits with whom I work and
share a love for handmade and old things???

So hello to my NATS (North American Torquay Society) and TPCS (Torquay Pottery Collectors Society) friends joing to Art Girls Roadshow
in TN last month!

A big thanks to Hearst/Country Living & Stella Show Management for the opportunity to celebrate this wonderful antique pottery and its contributions to
surface decoration, folk art and handmade of today...

 Hello pretty green, faience pots...
As some of you know, I have been addicted to collecting Torquay pottery for many years...i got my first piece at age 17...here's a link to that story...

Hello pretty hutch of pots that sits behind me as I type this...

...and hello to my friends Brenda & Ian Kimber who made an appearance at the Country Living Fair in TN a part of the recent US tour...

Here are Brenda and Ian arriving...all the way from England...
ok they did not travel by golf cart from England...but the Stella and Hearst staff sure did welcome them with an escort when they arrived at the ground of the Country Living Fair...

It was a tremendous honor to have Brenda -- joined by her friend Kathy Collins (on left below) -- former president of NATS -- on the Main Stage to share her incredible wealth of knowledge...and present the history of the potteries
and give us a glimpse at the artistry and crafting style
that has had such an incredible impact on contemporary design.

The slides from Brenda's talk...are below...
she very graciously has allowed me to publish them here...
Thanks to Brenda for compiling this power point..and for sharing her knowledge of British Pottery...
