lovely, lovely Clare from Ireland....AGAIN!!!

...I am completely smitten with the creations of Irish artist Clare Jordan
Again.
Clare and I know each other for many, many years.
We met on a snowy day in Manhattan at the New York gift fair...
each oogling over the magical creations of our mutual friend Ashley Carter...
That had to be a 10 years ago...and Ashley insisted -- knowing that I would adore what Clare made -- that we chat and see of we couldn't work together.

And we did...
for a while.
But, then we lost touch for a few years and then I just could not stand it anymore. I missed Clare and her sparkle, her cheeky humour and her style!

We had stayed in touch, but had not done business for a while  -- life and kids and and the Atlantic Ocean can get in the way -- and it just seemed like it was time to start things up again and I am so very grateful!!

WOO HOO!

My personal faves are her curios (see them all here).
Her curios feature altered art collages with hand applied glitter...
they are soldered and swing with style from couture ribbons.

(NOTE....You can order them until 3/12 with FREE standard shipping if you use code LUCKYME at checkout...)

Thanks to Jo Packam, too for the chance to feature Clare in an upcoming issue of Where Women Create magazine in my column called "Business of the Studio"...I look forward to sharing more about Clare....
it's a joy to be working with her again!

Stay tuned for more on this talented lady...

Just look at her with her gorgeous girl...

WOO HOOO and hello to The Polka Dot Club

...the idea of an heirloom toy really means something to me...
I love that Jennifer Murphy is creating playthings that matter,
toys that can be cuddled and treasured,
and are all the sweeter once they've been worn in, cuddled and loved.

I know Jennifer many, many years and have watched her business --
along with  her talent and style -- grow and develop.
To celebrate her journey,  I featured her in my column,
"The Business of the Studio" in Where Women Create magazine...
and you can read more about it here on the press pages...
She has quite a story to tell!

Newly arrived here at Earth Angels Studios,
are her mohair teds and toys for Spring 2015...
These cuddling rabbits and heirloom bears have a whole lotta charm going on....
and are high on the play factor, too!
I mean, look at these faces...

Her little floppy teds are my personal faves...
what an amazing gift for a wee one.
(all of Jennifer's Polka Dot Club creations are child safety approved)
And Jennifer's bears have a fab sense of fashion...
like good quality toys of long ago, children had one
most treasured doll or bear...and clothes to play with...
I feel like this bunny hat and coat are just the most darling ever...

Thanks to Jennifer for the honor of working with her these many years...
I love that her bear making journey has led her to The Polka Dot Club...

how about some hellos...

 Hello Monday.
...it's time to celebrate being Irish.
There's a whole lotta dancing of the jig that happens in these parts each year.

Maybe even if you're not Irish, we'll get you to celebrate with us...you see,
We're a magnanimous tribe, we'll tell you everyone's Irish on St. Patty's Day...
So hello Monday...

hello to the wearing of the green.

hello to feeling lucky.

hello to green milk and pancakes for the kids in the am....and corned beef for dinner...though I prefer champ or bangers & mash myself...
and maybe green beer for some of you???

hello to all those Irish songs and Irish-American traditions that are so much a part of me, I cannot separate them from my soul.

hello to all of you...
anyone else out there Irish?  Anyone else wearing green tomorrow???

Enjoy the day, and most of all, enjoy that history...we share it.
(Here's Rory at age 5 in County Clare....)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all...

My friend and Earth Angels' artist Julie Arkell has just released her second book..."AWAY"....a most lovely and fitting companion to her frist self-published book, "HOME"...

I adore everything about Julie's work. Her winsome and whimsical creatures, her love of timeworn fabrics, her sense of texture...sigh.

Hello Monday and hello putting this sweet and petite tome at the top of my reading list. Here's just a little peek:

Hello to wintery days and curling up with all those books on my "to read" pile...it's been too cold to even ski some weekends, so we've been baking and reading...and reading and baking!

Hello Julie, I miss you...
Here's a total throw back pic of Julie and I at a NY show about 10 years ago...I miss her trips over here...she's too buys these days teaching in the UK and France...

Hello to the few remaining copies of "HOME"...
we only have 6 left of Julie's first book... details here....

Hello to discovering things...we've FINALLY finished with inventory and have fond some wonderful things...now to photo them and get them to the site!

Hello to being cozy at home...what a winter this has been!

Hello to catching up after the recent trip...Florida was great fun! What a wonderful show...thanks to all at the Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery for making it possible...

Hello to all of you and have a great week!
